Proposal for UVic RFP 463

One governed home for every university image, video and file.

QuickHands proposes a configurable Digital Asset Management platform for University Communications and Marketing — migration, metadata, rights, galleries and CDN delivery, hosted in Canada.

The complete DAM is proposed for delivery and has not yet been deployed as an enterprise production product. Each capability is subject to UVic acceptance before go-live.

Why a DAM

What the platform solves for UCAM

172,000 assets across photography, RAW, video and design files need structure, governance and reliable delivery.

01

Find the right asset in seconds

Keyword, metadata, department, date and rights search across the full migrated collection.

02

Know what you may use

Copyright, licence, permitted use and rights-expiry travel with every asset and drive access.

03

Publish once, link forever

Approved assets get stable CDN URLs that survive new versions — paste them into Cascade CMS or WordPress.

04

Share safely beyond campus

External galleries with expiry and download controls, without spending named seats.

How it works

From camera card to campus website

  1. Ingest

Contributors upload RAW, video and documents; embedded metadata is captured.

  2. Describe

Editors add tags, department and rights fields against an approved schema.

  3. Approve

Content managers review, approve, reject or archive with a full audit trail.

  4. Deliver

Approved assets publish to a stable CDN URL or a shared external gallery.
